William David Johnson, born on June 17, 1981, in Columbus, Georgia, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Smiths Station, Alabama.
William was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to the lives of those who knew him. He lived his life with a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a deep love for the people and pastimes that mattered most to him.
He is survived by his son, William David Johnson Jr. (Emily); his two grandchildren, Jonathan Chadwick and Emma Johnson; his mother, Sandra Boyette; his father, William Athan Johnson; his sister, Cassie Johnson; his nephew, Wyatt Hodge; his niece, Avery Hodge; and his stepbrothers Bryan Boyette (Jamie) and Jeremy Boyette (Lynsey). His family was a source of great pride and joy in his life, and he cherished the time he spent with them. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends that will remember William with great fondness.
He is preceded in death by his beloved stepfather Dallas Boyette Jr.
William had many interests that reflected his love of life and the simple joys that brought people together. He loved fishing and found peace in the quiet moments spent outdoors. Music was also an important part of his life, and he appreciated the way it could lift the spirit and bring back cherished memories. He was a devoted fan of football and baseball, with a special love for the Atlanta Braves. He followed the game with enthusiasm and loyalty, always ready to cheer on his team. William was also a talented baseball player himself, and his skill on the field was something that those who knew him remembered with admiration and pride.
William’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness remains.
