Wayne F. King, 74 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Tuesday at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 6, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home.
Mr. King was born October 6, 1946 in Vermont to the late Joseph and Marguerite King. Mr. King retired from Gentry Machine Shop as a welder and served as member of the United States Navy during Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
Mr. King is survived by his wife Barbara King of Smith Station, Alabama. His daughters Liza Smith of South Carolina and Laurie Heim of North Carolina. Step-Children Jerry Moore of Columbus, Georgia. Marty Wells of Vero Beach, Florida. Lisa Kahr of Austin, Texas. Peggy Conway Timmons of Fox Island, Washington. Brothers Jim King of Connecticut. Bruce King of Savannah, Georgia. Charlie King of Columbus, Georgia. Gary King of Columbus, Georgia. Brian "Bubba" King of Columbus, Georgia. Kevin King of Ohio. Sisters Charlene Lambert of LaGrange, Georgia and Karen Swenson of Augusta, Georgia. Grandchildren Kourtney Smith, DeShawn Smith, Victoria Fowler, Olivia Heim, Lukas Heim, Maxwell Heim, Gabriel Heim, Coleton Wells, Chelsey Salyer, Kayla Moore, and Jessica Timmons. Great-Grandchildren Kason Murphy, Jiavonna Lanier, Khalil Smith, Aubriana Rice, Zoey Rice, JJ Salyer, and and one on the way in April. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and dear family friend Diane Smith.
