Vernon D. Jamieson, 80, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Auburn, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, from 6:00 PM ET to 8:00pm ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, at 2:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home with Brother Ronny Shirley officiating.
Mr. Jamieson was born on August 23, 1943 to Joseph D. Jamieson and Emmie Lee (Dunaway) Jamieson in Columbus, Georgia. He is proof there is love at first sight, he saw the love of his life Marcia Delane Jamieson, through a window and knew immediately, she was the one. He went on to marry Marcia on November 23, 1963. They had 57 wonderful years of marriage, before Marcia's passing in 2020.
His profession was in the textiles industry, having 40 plus years experience with Bibb Mills and Fieldcrest. He was a founding member and board member of Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God.
He was known to take great pride in landscaping his yard, working in it was his relaxation time. Mr. Jamieson's number one concern in life was taking care of his family, he was a true family man. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Marcia Delane Jamieson and three siblings, Donald Wayne Jamieson, Betty Gail McArdle, and John David Jamieson.
Mr. Jamieson is survived by four children, Wayne Jamieson (Regina), Marcia Shirley (Ronny), Angela Jamieson, and Vickie Humphries (Jim); one brother, Curtis Jamieson (Patty); twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
