Thomas Eugene Goodson

Thomas Eugene Goodson, 80, of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 12:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET. Mr. Goodson will be interred at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.

Mr. Goodson was born August 8, 1941 in Fairfield, Alabama to the late, Marvin Eugene Goodson and Bessie May Cotney. He served as a member of the United States Army before going to work for Tom Houston Peanut Company and retiring from Cessna Aircraft Company. Mr. Goodson was a member of Living Way Ministries. God was number one in his life and he could always be found in Church. He was an extraordinary mechanic, enjoyed singing, played guitar, bass guitar, piano, and the accordion. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, William Goodson.

Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda Fay Sweeney Goodson; son, Gary Goodson (Carmen); daughter, Lisa Loudermilk (Alan); nephew, Bobby Jones (Justin, Jeanine, Tristen, and Bret); 18 grandchildren.
