Claudie Sulane Woods, affectionately known as Sue to her friends and family, passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 82 in Phenix City, AL. Born on November 26, 1942, in Opelika, AL, Sue was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her.
Sue was predeceased by her devoted husband, William E. Woods, her loving parents, Homer Claude Kite and Mozelle Burnside, and her dear sister, Joyce Tinsley. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness, embodied by her daughter, Denise Ferrell (Robert), and her cherished granddaughters, Lisabeth Duckworth and Amanda Woodbury, who will continue to honor her memory by living out the values she instilled in them.
Throughout her life, Sue was the heart of her home, a dedicated homemaker who created an environment filled with love and comfort. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as caring for her beloved dogs, losing herself in a good book, and crafting beautiful creations alongside her sister.
Sue's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she was a devoted member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. Her commitment to her faith community was evident in the way she lived her life, always striving to be a reflection of the love and grace she found in her beliefs.
Her warm smile and gentle spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sue's presence was a gift, and her memory will be treasured as a reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm ET in Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA with Pastor Robb Goodman officiating.
