Steve Stewart Obituary

Stephen Ray Stewart, affectionately known as Steve to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at his home in Phenix City, Alabama, on December 31, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on March 27, 1959, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Steve was a man whose vibrant spirit and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Tina Wells Stewart, his stepdaughter, Shelby Farris, and her husband, James, who all cherished him deeply. He was a beloved family man who will also be fondly remembered by his Aunt Mary Oakes, Uncle Ray Williams, and a host of cousins and friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Stewart, Sr. and Barbara Ann Williams Stewart, as well as his brother, Harvey "Hank" Stewart, Jr.

Professionally, Steve was a self-employed home inspector and Real Estate Broker. His work ethic and dedication were unparalleled, and his contributions to the industry were significant. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his insistence on doing things right, a perfectionist in every sense of the word. His clients respected him for his passion and his friendly demeanor, which made him not just a professional associate, but a friend to many.

Beyond his professional life, Steve was a man of many interests. He was an avid golfer who loved hitting the links with his friends. His passion for the sport was only matched by his love for swimming, boating, and the companionship of his dogs. Anyone who knew Steve, knew his dog “Willie”, where they could be seen riding together at Lakewood or hanging out at local establishments. Steve could often be found grilling his favorite hamburger, a testament to his culinary skills and love for good food. His immaculately kept lawn was the envy of his neighbors, a symbol of his dedication to excellence in all aspects of his life.

A true negotiator at heart, Steve had a knack for seeking good deals, and his skills in negotiation were well-known among his friends and family. His passion for life was evident in his support for Alabama Football, cheering on his team with the same fervor he applied to every other aspect of his life.

Steve was a man who could light up a room with his humor and friendliness. His ability to connect with people was remarkable, and those who knew him could always count on him for a hearty laugh and a warm smile. His passion for life and his commitment to his loved ones and his work are the legacies he leaves behind.

As we say goodbye to Stephen Ray Stewart, we celebrate a life lived with joy, passion, and an unwavering commitment to the things and people he loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all. Steve's journey on this earth may have ended, but the impact he made will be felt for generations to come.
