Stefan Newsome Obituary

Stefan Howard Newsome, aged 55, of Shiloh, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. Born on November, 1 1969, to proud parents Bryan Joseph Newsome and Charlotte Barton Newsome, Stefan's early years were filled with love and laughter that would come to define his personality and love of life.

Stefan's passion for life was evident in everything he did. He excelled in his work in road construction and geographic mapping, working many years with various companies in the Columbus area.

Beyond his work, Stefan was a man of many interests and talents. He was a master at the pool table, with a sharp eye and a steady hand that made him a formidable opponent in billiards. His love for speed and performance found an outlet in race cars and drag racing, where he enjoyed not only the thrill of race but the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. An adept auto  mechanic, Stefan found joy in rebuilding sports cars, turning them from forgotten metal into roaring beasts of beauty. His hobbies also extended to the excitement of deep-sea fishing and the quieter challenges of strategy games, such as video games and chess.

Above all, Stefan was family-oriented, a trait that shone brightly in all aspects of his life. He was a devoted father to his four children, Chayna, Patrick, Katelynn and Brittany, and a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren, Tobias, Matteo and Zucchero. His love for his family was a constant, unwavering force that guided him through life's many turns.

Stefan is survived by his loving mother, Charlotte Barton Newsome, who instilled in him the values of kindness and compassion that he carried throughout his life, and his life partner, Jennifer Quinn, who supported him in his every endeavor. He leaves behind his caring siblings, Deanna Clark (Brian), and Bradley Newsome, and his substantial church family. His legacy will live on throughout the stories and memories shared by his extended family, that includes numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his innumerable friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bryan Joseph Newsome. Stefan's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his zest for life and the love he shared with everyone will forever remain a beacon of inspiration and joy. Stefan was a man well-loved, and a presence that will be deeply missed.
