Sidney Lumpkin Jr.

Sidney Lumpkin Jr., passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on March 2, 1949, in Columbus, Georgia, Sidney was the beloved son of Sidney Lumpkin Sr. and Mattie Mae Fomby Lumpkin.

Sidney leaves behind his wife of 53 years Joanne Lumpkin, daughter, Julie E. Lumpkin Tootle (Ben) and granddaughter, Ava Tootle. Sidney will be greatly missed by them. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Sr. and Mattie Mae, and his brother, Wayne Lumpkin.

Sidney's work ethic was unparalleled, serving in the US Army as well as having held various positions at Columbus Carpet Mill, TSYS, Piggly Wiggly, and Walmart.

Sidney enjoyed joy riding, music, Star Trek and Westerns, but most of all being with his family.  

As we bid farewell to Sidney Lumpkin Jr., we celebrate a man who loved his family deeply. A private service will be held at a later date.
