She shared 23 beautiful years of marriage with her spouse, Terry Guthrie, Sherry's legacy continues through her three sons, Thomas Evan, Richard Grant, and Jason Whitley. Her life was further enriched by the laughter and love of her grandchildren: Makalah, Jacob, Rainee, Colton, and Trenten, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Autumn and River, who brought her immeasurable joy.

She is the beloved daughter of Shirley (Oliver) Highnote and was preceded in death by her father, Frank Laney.
