Sam "Booter" Snead Obituary

Sam "Booter" Snead, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, in Seale, Alabama, at the age of 75. Born on March 15, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, Booter was a man known for his resilience, warmth, and the joy he found in the simpler things in life.

Booter grew up in a bustling household and carried the spirit of family throughout his life. He attended Jordan High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and a foundation of integrity and hard work. He later embarked on a career in sales with the McLane Co., where his personable nature and dedication made him a respected figure among colleagues and customers alike.

Family was the cornerstone of Booter's life. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kelly Burian, Jennifer Roehrig (Walter), and Nikki Knowles (Tyler). His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Ricks, Brian Burian, Samuel Burian, Daniel Roehrig, Brandon Roehrig, Joshua Roehrig, Jordyn Hardison, and Watson Knowles, as well as his four great-grandchildren, Bentley, Coltyn, Dominic, and Corey. Booter's memory will also be held dear by his siblings, Anne Burks, Janice Forsyth, James Snead, and Mike Snead. His life was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Joyce Dean Snead, his son, Corey Snead; son-in-law Adam Burian, and his first wife, Brenda Snead.

A handy man by nature, Booter had a passion for tinkering on cars. His strict but fair approach to parenting was tempered by the immense love and pride he had for his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his everything. Booter's interests were as grounded as his personality. He found solace in the quiet companionship of his horses and the satisfaction of a problem solved under the hood of a car. His presence was a reassuring constant in the lives of those who knew him, and his ability to fix anything with his hands was a trait that won him admiration and respect.

The Snead family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Booter's life. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 2-3 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. Funeral services will follow on the same day at 3:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home, with the ceremony honoring a life well-lived and the man who lived it to the fullest.
