SPC Dakota Douglas Pelfrey

Specialist Dakota Douglas “Cody” Pelfrey, age 27, of Springboro, Ohio and currently stationed as an Army Ranger with the United States Army in Ft. Benning, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Pelfrey in 2018.

Cody was born in Oxford, Ohio on June 21, 1995, the son of Mark Douglas and Heidi Ann (Hail) Pelfrey, who survive him. In addition to his parents, Cody is survived by his maternal grandparents, Iola and Bud Hail; his paternal grandfather, Jimmie Pelfrey; his sister, Grace Pelfrey and his brother, Sam Pelfrey. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Cody was a graduate of Springboro High School in 2014 and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Southbrook Christian Church, 9095 Washington Church Road, Miamisburg, Ohio with Pastor Laura Buffington officiating.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, at the Anderson Funeral Home- Springboro Chapel, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio and again on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
