Born in Columbus, Georgia, on December 24, 1947, Ronnie was a resident of Phenix City, Alabama, where he was a familiar and cherished member of the community.
Ronnie dedicated his life to serving others as a proud member of the Columbus Fire Department, from which he retired after many years of commendable service. His bravery and commitment to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens earned him the respect and admiration of all who worked alongside him.
Ronnie's life was a beacon of joy and generosity. As a loving father and grandfather, he was the heart and soul of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his two children, Laura Jones Adams (Mike) and Ronald "Alex" Jones Jr., and his adoration for his eight grandchildren— Joshua Adams, Presley Adams, Sophia Jones, Clay Weatherly, Maddie Weatherly, Charlie Adams, Jaden Adams and Justus Adams—was boundless. his great-grandchild, Jesse Riley, brought an even wider smile to his face.
His brother, Larry Jones (Joyce), will miss Ronnie's laughter and companionship, as they shared a bond that only siblings understand. Ronnie now joins his life partner, Sharon Ogden, who preceded him in death, along with his mother, Betty Mae Jones, and three brothers, Louis, Ricky, and Tommy Jones, in eternal peace.
Ronnie's zest for life was evident in his passions. An avid NASCAR fan, he spent many a weekend engrossed in the high-speed thrills of the race track, cheering on his favorite drivers and sharing the excitement with his family and friends. He was also a Georgia Bulldog football fan, He could often be found, wearing the red and black colors with pride. His dedication was a testament to his vibrant spirit and his ability to connect with others through the love of the game.
Ronnie's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His warm presence and the stories he told will be greatly missed. His was a life well-lived, full of dedication, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
