Mr. Rogers Hensley was born to the late John Earnest and Daisy Hensley in Russell County, AL on February 15, 1952. He was raised by his grandmother Nancy Phillips.
Rogers was married to Deborah Morris on August 20, 1971, and they were united for over 54 years. From this union, three children were born. Rodney (Dana) Hensley of Columbus, Ga; Derrick (Stephanie) Hensley of Phenix City, AL; and Tameka Hensley of Seale, AL. Together they have two grandchildren (Trenton and Sterling Hensley). Rogers was preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy Phillips, both parents, and all five of his siblings.
He retired from Pillowtex, where he worked as a supervisor for 32 years. He enjoyed spending time working outside on his lawn and his vehicles. Rogers also loved to participate in his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved to study and speak about what the bible promises.
On February 11, 1989, Rogers dedicated his life to Jehovah. He served as an elder with the East Phenix City congregation for over 22 years. He remained a faithful servant until his death on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7 at 2:30 p.m. EST/1:30 p.m. CST at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3755 South Seale Road, Phenix City, Alabama 36869
