Rita L. Nevels, 80 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Columbus Hospice.

Mrs. Nevels was born September 8, 1941 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Gladys Pearl Lester. Mrs. Nevels was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and retried from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama as a registrar.

Mrs. Nevels is survived by her husband Howard E. Nevels, Sr. of Phenix City, Alabama. One son Eddie Nevels Jr. of Phenix City, Alabama. One daughter Sherry Nevels Evans (Terry) of Columbus, Georgia. Three grandchildren Shawn Austin, Tiffany Ketchum, Keith Kitts. Two great grandchildren Neely Austin, Tucker Sims. One great great grandchild Kane Kitts. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deadra Nevels Austin and two grandchildren Tripp Nevels and Joseph Nevels.
