Richard Robbins, Jr. Obituary

Richard Lamar Robbins, Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as "Little Ricky," passed away on September 20, 2024, in Crawford, Alabama, at the age of 42. Born on August 22, 1982, in Tallahassee, Florida, he was the cherished son of Jenny Denise Whitehead Robbins and Richard Lamar Robbins, Sr., and a beloved brother, uncle, father, and friend to many.

Little Ricky's warmth and exuberance filled the lives of those around him. He grew up surrounded by a loving family, including his sister, Ashley Robbins Saxon, married to Shane, and his nieces, Tristin Suggs, Denise Suggs, and Brooklyn Sisk. He was a proud father to his children, Josef Wohrman, Kevin Robbins, and Neveah, who were the center of his world. His family tree was rooted in love, with his brother James Moore, uncle Jeff Whitehead, and numerous stepbrothers, stepsisters, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his dear grandparents, Delma and Janice Whitehead, and Lillian and Bozo, as well as his great grandparents, Merle and John Henry Graham. His stepmother, Sandra Sugden, and his brother Jeremy Robbins, along with his aunt Teresa Whitehead, played significant roles in his life.

Educated in the local schools of his birthplace, Little Ricky was renowned for his ability to fix just about anything, a skill that he later turned into a successful career. He was a skilled electrician with Parrish Electric Company, where his colleagues respected him for his expertise and his jack-of-all-trades persona. His work was not just a job but a demonstration of his talent and dedication to helping others.

Little Ricky's interests were as generous and broad as his personality. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. His garden was a testament to his patience and care, yielding produce that he shared with friends and family. An enthusiastic Alabama football fan, he never missed a game and his spirit soared with every touchdown.

But above all, Little Ricky was a family man. His nieces and nephews knew him as "Uncle Ricky," a title he wore with honor and joy. He was the heart of every family gathering, known for his funny stories, generous nature, and friendly demeanor. His laughter was infectious, his smile brightened every room, and his presence made every moment more memorable.

As we remember Little Ricky, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many lives. He was a man who gave freely of himself, who found joy in the happiness of others, and who lived his life with a kindness that will be deeply missed. His legacy is one of laughter, love, and the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit.

Richard Lamar Robbins, Jr. leaves behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Little Ricky, we celebrate the time we had with him and the love he shared with us all. His story does not end with his passing, for he lives on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and in the legacy of warmth and joy he has left behind.
