Born on December 3, 1952, in the same city he would later leave his indelible mark, Phillip's life was one characterized by passion, dedication, and an unyielding spirit of generosity.

Phillip's early years in Columbus were filled with the love and camaraderie of a large family. He was the beloved son of John Eugene and Julia Elizabeth (Williamson) Ragan, who preceded him in death, as did his sisters Sharon Nowell, Rita Freeman, and Phyllis Ragan. He was a source of strength and support for his family, taking special care of his sisters in times of need, a testament to his generous nature.

The legacy Phillip leaves behind is illuminated by the lives of his five children: Patrick, Dillon, John, Julia, and Eric Ragan. Each of them carries a spark of their father's tenacity and kindness.
