Peggy Scott Obituary

Peggy Johnson Scott, a beacon of warmth and friendliness, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama. Born on October 5, 1943, in Panama City, Florida, Peggy's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Peggy, a proud attendee of Baker High School, was known for her unwavering dedication to her community and her passion for life. Her career as a beloved bartender at the VFW spanned many years. She poured not just drinks but also comfort and cheer into the lives of many. Peggy's radiant smile and caring nature made the VFW more than just a gathering place; it became a second home for those who knew her.

She was a woman whose love knew no bounds, touching the lives of her family, friends, and even strangers. Peggy leaves behind two children, Cynthia Shepard, and Frank Shepard, and grandson, Michael Shepard, stepson, Billy Scott, and siblings, Ruth Greene, Betty Sue Tucker, Bobbie Jean Glover, and James Harlen Johnson.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lonnie (White) Johnson, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she carried throughout her life.

Peggy's spirit was as vibrant as the Disney movies she adored. Her home was often filled with the sounds of animated classics, a testament to her youthful heart. Animals held a special place in Peggy's life, and her kindness was felt by every creature she encountered, big or small.

Bingo nights were always brighter with Peggy in the room. Her competitive spirit was always in good fun, and her laughter was infectious. Peggy's friends were many, and her ability to forge lasting connections was truly remarkable.

Her nieces and nephews were blessed with an aunt who exemplified both strength and tenderness. She showed them what it meant to work hard and to always approach life with a loving heart. Peggy's legacy is one of friendship and caring, and those who knew her will remember her as the epitome of both.

As we bid farewell to Peggy Johnson Scott, we celebrate a life abundantly lived and generously shared. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
