Miguel Angel Mijarez

Miguel Angel Mijarez, a remarkable spirit, passed away at the age of 45 on November 18, 2025, in Auburn, Alabama. Born on May 3, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, to a family that cherished him, Miguel grew up to be a beacon of light, always ready to put others before himself.

Those who knew Miguel were fortunate to experience his kindness firsthand. He was the kind of person who would listen intently, support unconditionally, and give selflessly. His presence was a comfort to those around him, and his actions were a testament to the love he had for his friends and family.

Miguel leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his devoted mother, Julien Dela Cruz of Lantana, Florida; his caring sister, Suli Delacruz, also of Lantana, Florida; and his extended family, including his son, Sylas Mijarez, his cousin Andrea Rosen, cousin Zulma Sanchez, and aunt Sonia Sanchez, will remember Miguel for his boundless energy, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his unfailing commitment to his family. Miguel's ability to connect with people on a profound level was one of his most remarkable traits, and it is this quality that endeared him to his best friends, Samantha Milera, Ameera Butler, Omar Leckey, and Dale Gibson. Together, they shared countless moments of joy, support, and camaraderie that will be treasured forever. HIs family in Columbia will miss him greatly as well. 

His life was a tapestry of warm encounters, Miguel was a kind soul who always put others before himself. He had a deep love and passion for art and was talented at drawing. He also loved his job as a barber and took great pride in taking care of his clients. His clients loved him as well and were immensely happy in the work he did. Miguel will be greatly missed by them. 

As we bid farewell to Miguel Angel Mijarez, we celebrate a life lived with grace and a heart that gave so much. He has left an indelible mark on this world, and though he has departed from our sight, his spirit will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.
