Michael Scott Oakes, 56, of Phenix City passed away January 9, 2021 at Emory Healthcare, Johns Creek, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00pm ET at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8pm ET at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Williford, Wayne Williford, Cody Franklin, Chris Jones, Jeffrey Oakes, Robert Oakes and Gene Oakes.
Mr. Oakes was born August 17, 1964 in Columbus, Georgia son of the late Francis Eugene Oakes and Virginia Joyce Denton. He was retired from Energy Savers with 23 years service, he had attended Kendrick High School, loved Alabama Football and fishing. Michael loved being around people, especially children and loved board games; his favorites were 10 Thousand, Yahtzee and other dice games.
Survivors are his Mother, Joyce Jordan; three brothers, Gene Oakes (Brenda), Robert Oakes (Virginia) and Jeffrey Oakes; a son, Scott Oakes (Katie); three grandchildren, four nieces, four nephews and a great aunt Eloise Hussey.
