Mary Ellen Ridley, 74, of Phenix City, Alabama, crossed the veil peacefully at her residence on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at her home while surrounded by her loving husband and family. The Visitation will be at 11:00 AM EST followed by the Funeral service which will begin at 12:00 PM EST at Colonial Funeral Home at 613 14th St, Phenix City, Alabama, Saturday, June 24, 2023 . James "Bug" Eiland will officiate.
Mary Ellen was born in Phenix City, Alabama, the daughter of the late George Curry Meredith and Faith Otts Meredith. Mary Ellen served nobly throughout her career as an Account Manager for 25 years at Ferguson Enterprises and Ben Jones Machinery. She also volunteered for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and participated in numerous service projects. She was always ready and willing to serve. She was easily approachable by her beautiful smile and her personality. Mary was a devoted member of the Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints, Phenix City Ward.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her brother John Douglas Meredith and sister Rebecca Ann Meredith. Five years ago, Mary Ellen lost one of her precious daughters, Kerri Dawn Bragg Riles to Multiple Myeloma.
Those left behind to cherish her memories is her husband Charles Stanley Ridley of thirty-one years; daughter Kim Bragg Phillips, son Brian Bragg and his wife Nicole Bragg and their father William Bragg, step sisters Georgia Tanya Parker and Rhonda Parker; grandchildren Colt Boyette and his wife Kaleigh Boyette, Kyndall Boyette Willis and her husband Joshua Willis, Brianna Thompson Helms, Blake Thompson, Natalee Bragg, Emilee Bragg; great grandchildren John Luke Helms, Thomas Brooks Willis, Walker Lane Willis, William Kade Boyette, Brantlee Grace Boyette.
