Martha "Frances" Ledford

Martha "Frances" Ledford, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed away on February 22, 2024 in Columbus, Georgia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00pm ET to 8:00pm ET.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 at 2:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Garner Sr. officiating. 

Frances was born on March 18, 1943 to the late Richard Lou Moody and Ethel (Rhods) Moody. 

Mrs. Ledford was an active member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Columbus, Geogia. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the Phenix City Activity Center. She was always full of energy and entertaining everyone with her singing and dancing. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, word searches, watching lifetime movies and was a  VC Andrews fan. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Ledford; one son, Thomas Hand; and six siblings, Lillian (Mason) Kenny, Betty Sue Copeland, Janice Kenny, Juanita Moody, Bobby Lou Moody, and Hubert Lafeyett Moody.

Surviving are one daughter, Eleanor Amanda Hand; two grandchildren, Melissa Larsen (Donald) and Jacob Hand (Elizabeth); two great-grandchildren, Shayna Larsen and Katelynn Larsen; one sister, Sara Moody Powell (Willy C.); and  numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
