Martha's life was one marked by a profound capacity to love and a zest for life that was contagious. She met her beloved husband, James "Jim" Callaway, in a most unconventional yet endearing manner, through a prank call to the Fort Benning Army Base. This serendipitous connection blossomed into a beautiful marriage on January 16, 1961. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another.
Martha found peace and relaxation in fishing for bream and catfish with a simple cane pole and reveled in the tranquility of camping. She was often found on her front porch during lazy afternoons, sharing stories and watching the world go by. Her culinary skills, particularly her cornbread dressing, were legendary among those who had the privilege to taste her dishes.
Vacations in Florida were a source of many cherished memories, as were her swimming escapades. Martha's sense of adventure often led her to the casino, where she enjoyed lively outings with her dear friends Big George and Beth. Even the digital world was graced with her presence as she connected with friends and family on Facebook, sharing moments of her life and spreading cheer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lee Senn and Everlena Wade Senn, and her brother Jimmy Senn.
A devoted mother to her children, Michael "Mike" Callaway and his wife Gina, Mark Callaway, and Nancy Sloan and her husband David, Martha instilled in them the values of family, hard work, and the importance of making time for fun. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and doted on her 13 great-grandchildren, brother, John Senn, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, will fondly remember her for the joy and laughter she brought into their lives.
