Marsha Nell Driskell, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Salem, Alabama, at the age of 74. Born on February 1, 1950, in Columbus, Georgia, Marsha was a light of love and warmth to all who knew her.
Marsha's life was one of dedication and love, both to her family and her community. She was the beloved wife of Bobby Driskell, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and unwavering companionship. Together, they raised two daughters, Janice Sizemore (Adam) and Michelle Culpepper (Robert), who remember their mother as a guiding light and a source of endless support. Marsha's joy was multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Kaylyn Boone (Hunter), Madelyn Culpepper, Montgomery Culpepper, Casey Sizemore, and Will Sizemore, who will carry her legacy forward.
Marsha was a graduate of Southern Union State Community College, where she laid the foundation for her career. She worked diligently in records and debts at the bank, where her meticulous nature and strong work ethic were greatly valued. Her colleagues will remember her as a reliable and conscientious worker.
Beyond her professional life, Marsha was a woman of many passions. She had a green thumb, finding solace and joy in her garden, where she could often be found tending to her plants and flowers. Shopping was another of Marsha's favorite pastimes, whether she was searching for the perfect gift for a loved one or simply enjoying the company of friends and family on a leisurely outing.
Marsha's creative talents were evident in her crocheting and wreath-making, through which she brought beauty into the world and into the homes of those she cared for. Her handcrafted creations were not just items of decor but symbols of her love and attention to detail.
Though Marsha is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bobby; her loving daughters, Janice and Michelle; her adoring grandchildren, Kaylyn, Madelyn, Montgomery, Casey, and Will; and numerous friends who were touched by her kindness. Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Alfred Long and Emma Frances Long; her baby girl; her brother, Alfred Wayne Long; and her sister, Cherrie Joyce Flowers.
