Marie Price, born on January 19, 1955, to Gene Foster, Sr. and Marie Foster, was a woman whose life was defined by the depth of her devotion and the warmth of her spirit. She was a sister to Gene Foster, Jr., Charlie Foster, Aubrey Foster, Barbarakay Smith, Jerry Foster, James Foster, Malinda Brumbley, and Danny Foster. When she passed away on January 13, 2026, she left behind a legacy of love that was as rare as it was beautiful.
On July 5, 1990, Marie married the love of her life, Larry Price, Sr, whom she leaves behind. Together, they lived in many places, but no matter where they landed, Marie had a gift for turning four walls into a true home. Her favorite place in the world wasn’t a specific city or landmark; it was simply anywhere she could be with Larry. She took care of him and loved him in ways only she could, filling their lives with humor and a loyalty that never wavered through the good times and the bad.
Marie’s greatest source of pride was her family. She was a spouse and step-mother like no other, and she took immense joy in helping raise her step-children—Larry Price, Keith (Robin) Price, Ashley (Jeffrey) Farless, and Christal (David) McNair—as her very own. To her 14 grandchildren, her 2 great grandchildren, and to everyone who entered her home, she was a constant source of comfort, often greeting them with her signature, "Hey shuug."
Her nurturing spirit extended to all living things. Marie loved her "babies"—her five dogs—with everything she was, and she held a special place in her heart for her birds. Whether she was showing her family how to be gentle with a newborn bird or teaching them how to help an animal in labor, her compassion was a lesson in itself.
In the kitchen, Marie was a master of her craft. While she served her community as a biscuit maker at Burger King, she was equally famous at home for her cooking. She took great pride in her biscuits, teaching her family the secrets of the craft. She had a way of filling the house with laughter, often serving up meals that no one realized were squirrel, deer, or fish until well after the plates were cleared.
Marie found joy in the simple things. She loved camping and listening to music, especially her favorite artist, Elvis, whom she playfully claimed to be related to. Her evenings were often spent in the company of those she loved, playing cards or quietly watching baseball, wrestling, or old country westerns. She understood that those quiet moments mattered just as much as the loud ones.
Marie Price was a woman of rare loyalty and heart. She taught her family how to cook, how to care for the vulnerable, and how to show up for one another. Her warmth, her humor, and her devotion made life richer for everyone who knew her, and she will be carried forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call her "shuug."
A Funeral Service, honoring Marie Price will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20th at 12PM EST with a Visitation preceding at 11AM EST.
