Lowary Mack Jennings Obituary

Lowary Mack Jennings, born on January 10, 1946, in Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Jennings was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, and friend who lived a full life marked by courage, handiness, and a deep love for the outdoors.

Mr. Jennings spent his formative years in Brandon, where he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for construction that would define his professional life. He dedicated many years to Wayne-Gentry Construction, where his handiness and problem-solving abilities were not just his trade but his calling. Colleagues knew him as a man who could fix anything, a skill he took great pride in.

Beyond his professional life, he was a man of the wilderness. He found serenity in the forests and lakes, hunting and fishing with a skill and respect for nature that he passed on to all who accompanied him. These moments in the quiet of nature were among his most cherished.

In his personal life, Mr. Jennings was known for his courage and steadfastness, traits that served him well as the loving head of a large family. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 27 years, Patricia Jennings of Phenix City, Alabama. Together, they shared a life full of love and mutual support. He was a guiding light to his two daughters, Jackie Jennings and Wendy Jennings, both of Atlanta, Georgia, instilling in them the values of hard work and perseverance.

Mr. Jennings three stepchildren, Patty Ann Wall of Atlanta, Georgia, Debbie Mercer, and Marty Newsome, both of Phenix City, Alabama, will remember him for his unwavering presence and the safe harbor he provided throughout their lives. He also leaves behind his sister, Peggy Hughes of Brandon, Mississippi, who will miss his steadfast companionship and brotherly love. Lowary now joins his eleven siblings and parents, who preceded him in death.

Those who knew Mr. Jennings will remember him for his ability to tackle any challenge with determination and for his courage in the face of life's adversities. He was a man who could always be counted on, whether it was for a helping hand or wise counsel. His courage, coupled with his practical skills, made him an invaluable member of his community.

Mr. Jennings  life was one of commitment: to his family, his work, and his passions. The memories he created with those he loved will continue to inspire and guide them. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and the quiet strength that defines the most honorable among us.
