Lou Ann Williams, affectionately known as Lou Ann or "Mamaw” to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, at the age of 63, in her birthplace and hometown of Phenix City. Born on March 2, 1961, Lou Ann spent her life dedicated to her family, her profession, and her passions, leaving behind a legacy of love and care that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Lou Ann was a beacon of light in the lives of her beloved family members. She was the daughter of Joy Marshall Henderson and the loving wife of Danny Robert Williams, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. She was a guiding force and a source of endless support for her children, Danny Williams Jr., Joy Marye Williams, Leslie Deann Williams, and Malcolm Sean Williams. Lou Ann's joy was multiplied with the arrival of each grandchild: Tamara Brianna Taylor, Anthony Sean Williams, Ian Blayne Whitehead, Alyssa Haleigh Taylor, Logan Sean Williams, Leyton Shea Williams, and Brian Joseph Taylor. She also embraced the role of a proud great-grandmother to Jerrell Mandrel Likely, III. Lou Ann's love extended to her sister, Joy Wynnette Huizar, her brother, George Edwin Tucker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by Angela Dee Tucker and Hope Marie Tucker.

An alumna with an Associate degree in Applied Sciences, Lou Ann devoted her professional life to the field of nursing. She cared for countless patients as a nurse at Parkwood Nursing Home until her retirement and previously as a cardiac floor nurse at St. Francis Hospital. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were the hallmarks of her career, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and those under her care.

Lou Ann's interests were as varied as they were joyful. She was an avid boater, a happy camper, and an enthusiastic angler, finding peace and pleasure in the great outdoors. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, blooming with the same love she poured into her life. Horror movies brought excitement to her evenings, and she relished the thrill of a good scare. Above all, Lou Ann adored her family and grandkids, whose achievements and milestones were her greatest pride.

Described by those who knew her best as passionate, thoughtful, and loving, Lou Ann approached every aspect of her life with a wholehearted commitment that was truly inspiring. She was the embodiment of the well-known quote by Maya Angelou, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Lou Ann made everyone around her feel cherished, understood, and important.

As we bid farewell to Lou Ann Williams, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion.
