Lou Ella (Parish) Grimes

Lou Ella Grimes, age 74, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at her home with her family there.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 4:00 pm est at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Jack Wallace officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

Lou was born August 3, 1948 in Brundidge, Alabama to the late James Doc Parish and Nancy Evelyn Graves Parish. She worked for many years in healthcare, was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, enjoyed crocheting, coloring apps, and spending time with her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 57 years, Royce Lee Grimes.

She is survived by her children; James "Rusty" Grimes (Connie), and Bonnie Grimes Boswell, a stepson; Donnie West, a brother; Buddy Parish, grandchildren; Jayda Renaye Grimes, Ashley Boswell Ivey (Lester), John W. Boswell, Jr., Kelsey Gilbreath (Josh), Erica Tidman, Megan Lee, and Kaela Lee. Great grandchildren; Chase Gilbreath, Ezra Boswell. Elena Boswell, Cohen Magee, Logan Gilbreath, Lester Lee Ivey III, Ella Greenwood, and Parker Greenwood.
