Lonnie Ware Obituary

Lonnie Joe Ware, a beloved father, brother, paw-paw and friend, passed away at the age of 68 on June 9, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama. Bornon June 21, 1956, in Tallapoosa, Alabama, Lonnie's life was one of dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.

Lonnie's early years in Tallapoosa laid a strong foundation for the man he would become. He married Brenda Fay Ware, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising a family. Lonnie was a devoted father to his children, Tracy Gordon (Jesse), Charles Ware (Tammy), and Charlene Brewer. He also cherished his role as a stepfather to Melissa, Thomas (Rhonda), Phillip, Robin, Sarah (Danny), and Mathew. His family was the center of his world, and he instilled in them the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family bonds.

Lonnie's work as a head over hauler at Swift Spring Mills was a testament to his strong work ethic and his commitment to providing for his family. His dedication to his job was matched only by his commitment to his faith and community as a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

An avid outdoorsman, Lonnie found peace and solace in fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and pass on his love for the outdoors to his children and stepchildren. His skills at the grill were legendary among family and friends, and many will fondly remember the joyous gatherings where Lonnie's grilling was the highlight of the day.

He is survived by his brother, Jessie Ware, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss Lonnie's presence deeply. Lonnie was preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Ware Jr., wife Brenda Ware, father Alton Ware and his mother, Maggie Lee Ogletree. The loss of these beloved family members was a profound sorrow for Lonnie, but he carried their memories close to his heart, finding comfort in the love and support of his surviving family.

Lonnie Joe Ware's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he has had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Lonnie's spirit and the lessons he taught us through his example will continue to guide us, and his memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.
