Lily Mae Proctor

Lily Mae Proctor, 83, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Friday, September 22, 2023. She was born May 26, 1940 to the late, William Hammonds and Elizabeth Wilkerson Hammonds in Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Proctor worked in the hospital doing CNA work when she was younger. As she got older, she sat with elderly people and loved it. She loved to spend time with her family and had a passion for collecting hummingbirds. Mrs. Proctor loved going out for dinner and taking trips to Wal Mart. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Proctor; brothers Tommy and Lester; sisters, Ann, Vivian, Mary, Dorothy, and Carrie; children, Carol Grantham and William Underwood.

Surviving are her son, Tony Underwood (Jenn); daughter, Donna Scarborough (Vance); eight grandchildren, Tabitha Williams (Kirk), "Lil" Tony Underwood (Tracy), Bambi Rackley (Tim), Tammy Scarborough (Chris), Van Scarborough (Tonya), Natalie Green (Tyler), Lane Taylorson (Hannah), and Abbee Johnson (CJ); 17 great-grandchildren, Ian Williams, Elliotte Williams, Montana Hart, Cheyenne Underwood, Cadyn Underwood, Hunter Rackley, Taylor Rackley, "Lil" Chris Ballard, Savannah Ballard, Easton Green, Addison Green, Willow Johnson, Kodie Ray Johnson, Lawson Taylorson, Lily Taylorson, Hannah Holmes (Jared),and Makenzie Smith (Corey): 10 great-great-grandchildren, Wylloh Hart, Ellie Mae Hart, Jaxyn Hart, Rowan Underwood, Emery Underwood, Kohen Underwood, Cameron Holmes, Hunter Holmes, Masen Smith, and Mailee Smith.

The family would like to thank the staff at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital 10th Floor ICU for the love and great care you gave her. Also, thanks to River City Dialysis Doctors, Piedmont Family Practice Doctors and Orchard View Skilled Nursing Center.
