Lillian Katherine Moody Mason Kinney, 81 of Smiths Station, Alabama, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday morning in her home. Services will be officiated by Rev Edward Kvietkus, Jr and will be held Mon, April 26, at 11:00am ET in the chapel at Colonial Funeral Home followed by interment at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Lillian was born Nov 19, 1939 to the late Richard Lou Moody and Ethel Rose Moody in Covington County Alabama. She was a retired Special Ed caregiver in Taunton, Massachusetts where she lived for about 30 years. Prior to Taunton she lived in Berkeley, Mass for about 12 years where she had two children, Cindy Flint Spencer and Scott Flint. Lillian and Don Kinney married in Massachusetts and returned in 2003 to the Phenix City area. She enjoyed going to Gospel singings and going weekly to the Phenix City Senior activity center.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Don” Kinney, her daughter Cindy Spencer, her grandson Sheldon Spencer, and her stepchildren, Karon Jones (Paul), Darryl Kinney (Brenda), sister Sarah Ruth Moody Powell (Buddy), and sister Martha Frances Moody Ledford. Aunt Lillian had several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by son Scott Flint, her stepson Corey Don Kinney (Patricia), her brothers Hubert Moody and Bobby Moody, and sisters Betty Sue Copeland, Janice Elaine Kinney, and Juanita Moody.
