Leola Dykes Wilks, 85, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on September 11, 2020 at her home in Phenix City, Alabama.
Mrs. Wilks was born on July 22, 1935 to John Dykes and Eula Kennedy Dykes in Louisville, Alabama. She loved attending Church and was a member of Crawford Road Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilks was a great cook, talented in sewing clothing, as well as crafts. She enjoyed singing in the choir, gospel music, and spending time with her children and their friends. She was known to be an outgoing, active grandma, who was well loved by her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, James Robert Wilks; one daughter, Amy Doster; five grandchildren, Joshua Doster, Seth Doster, Tiffany Doster, Zachary Doster, and Emily Doster; one great-grandchild, Reed Doster; and eight siblings, Ila Welsh, Cecil Dykes (Rosemarie), Earl Dykes (Fay), John Clinton Dykes (Ella Mae), Robby Hughes, Bobbie Shelley (Davis), Judy Cole, and Nell Mills (Lamon).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 6:00 PM ET to 8:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 10:30 AM ET at the Colonial Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Minton officiating. Burial will take place at Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in Josie, Alabama.
