Lawrence Arthur Weider, age 90, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on May 19, 2026. Born on August 18, 1935, in Portage, Wisconsin, he lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to family, steady hard work, and a quiet appreciation for the simple joys.
He served his country in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his sense of duty. After his military service, he continued to demonstrate that same commitment through his work, most notably as a fixer at Swift Mills.
Outside of work, Lawrence found joy in fishing, a pastime that gave him peace and time to enjoy the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Weider of Columbus, Georgia; his two children, Wesley Weider (Lucy) and Wendy Drysdale; his grandchild, Josh Drysdale; and his great-grandchild, Conner Drysdale. He took great pride in his family and found deep joy in the bonds they shared.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leigh and Carrie Weider. Their memory remained an important part of his life, and the values they gave him helped shape the man he became.
The legacy he leaves behind is one of devotion, resilience, and quiet strength, carried forward through the family and memories he leaves behind.
