Larry Dale Johns

Larry Dale Johns, 71, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 beginning at 11:00am EST at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery at 12:30pm EST. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am EST at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama.

Larry was born December 27, 1947 in Marianna, Florida to James Moses Johns and Ruby Jewell Morris Johns. He graduated High School and received an Auto body degree. Larry served in the United States Navy and went on to retire from Gold Star Taxi. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Felton Emory Johns and Jimmy Jackson Johns; 2 sisters, Mary Jean Johns and Betty Sue Tuthill.

Surviving are his daughter, Rachel (Dennis) Roman of Walhalla, SC; 2 sons, James Wesley Harris (Danelle) of Cocoa Beach, FL and Anthony Dale Johns of Moultrie, GA; brother, Raymond Steven Johns (Brenda) of Prattville, AL; sister, Ruby Ruth Karpowicz of Columbus, GA; 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces of nephews.
