Jurgen Steben Giron, born on January 16, 1996, in Santa Rosa, Guatemala, passed away on April 28, 2026, in Phenix City, Alabama.
Jurgen was born to Alfonso Giron Rustrian and Evelia Avigail Mejia Valenzuela and carried the values of family, loyalty, and kindness throughout his life. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him.
He is survived by his parents, Alfonso Giron Rustrian and Evelia Avigail Mejia Valenzuela; his sister Catherine Giron and her husband, Jonathan Chavez, and brother Jordan Giron; He is also survived by his friends, Mauricio Chavez, Leslie Chavez, and Corina Lopez. Jurgen was especially close to his family and treasured the time he spent with them. He also leaves behind his beloved niece, Nicole and numerous extended family that include, aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
Jurgen enjoyed soccer and had a genuine passion for the game. In recent years, he also began going to the gym, where he continued to build on his interest in staying active and healthy. He had a special appreciation for sneakers and enjoyed collecting them, combining his love of soccer and sneakers through his interest in soccer shoes. These hobbies reflected his personality and the enthusiasm he brought to the things he loved.
He also had a deep affection for dogs and was known for the happiness he showed around them. His dog, Max, who has passed, remained an important part of his memories and heart. Jurgen’s kindness toward animals was a reflection of the caring nature that so many people appreciated in him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his niece, Nicole, and those moments brought him great happiness and pride.
Jurgen will be remembered for his bright spirit, his love of family, and the many ways he shared his affection with others. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his parents, siblings, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, from 4:00 PM EST to 6:00 PM EST at Colonial Funeral Home. His family and friends will gather to honor his life, share their memories, and pay tribute to a life that touched many.
