Joseph Lamar Gordon

Joseph Lamar Gordon, 82, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Piedmont Northside Hospital. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. est. at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  

Mr. Gordon was born August 15, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia to the late, Terrell and Grace Gordon.  He served our country in the Air Force with over 28 years of service.  After his military career, he retired from the Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Gordon and son, Joseph Lamar Gordon Jr.  

He is survived by his son, Jonathan (Julia) Gordon of Bristow, Virginia; brother, Terrell Wayne (Linda) Gordon of Columbus, Georgia; sister, Vera (George) Peavy of Byron, Georgia; grandchildren, Samantha (Walter) Wood of Arlington, Virginia and Joshua Gordon of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
