John Wyrosdick Obituary

John Raymond Wyrosdick, known affectionately as John to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024, at the age of 80 in Pittsview, Alabama. Born on May 11, 1944, in Andalusia, Alabama, John's life was marked by dedication, love, and a quiet strength that endeared him to all who knew him.

John honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and pride. After his military service, he returned to civilian life and applied his disciplined work ethic to a career in sheet metal work. His skilled hands and keen eye for detail were not only evident in his professional life but also in the personal projects he undertook.

One of John's most cherished accomplishments was building a home with his beloved wife, Julia "Diane" Wyrosdick. Together, they crafted not just a house, but a warm and welcoming haven for their family. John's love for Diane was paralleled only by his love for his children, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Other than his loving wife, he is survived by his children, David (Ann) Wyrosdick, Lisa (Patty) Bruce, Deanna Jaramillo, Van Nolen, Johnny Nolen, and Theresa (Steve) Floyd; his brother, Ralph (Jan) Wyrosdick; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Wyrosdick and Bennie Stroud Wyrosdick; son, John “Bubba” Wyrosdick; and nephew, Joseph “Joe Mac” Wyrosdick.

An avid fisherman, John found solace and pleasure in the quietude of nature. His fishing trips were times of reflection and relaxation, and the fish tales that followed were always a source of amusement for his family and friends.

John's legacy is one of unwavering love, steadfast service, and the simple joys of life. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those he leaves behind. John Raymond Wyrosdick's life was a tapestry of commitment, joy, and the creation of lasting memories, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
