John Wayne Costello, 86, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Canterbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in Phenix City, Alabama.

Mr. Costello was born February 3, 1937 to the late, Earnest Costello and Lydia Irene Jones Costello in Columbus, Georgia. He served as a member of the United States Army before going on to work in mining in Colorado. Mr. Costello loved watching western movies and spending time with his family. Other than his parents, he is preceded by his wife of nearly 63 years, Thelma Frances Costello; siblings, James Costello, Dorothy Gergel, George Costello, William "Bill" Costello, Rebecca "Becky" Hall, and Marvin "Chuck" Costello; and stepson, Floyd Lee Oakes.

Surviving is his sister, Carole King (J.B.), three step-granddaughters, Shane, Erica, and Amanda; beloved niece, Karen O'Neal; several nieces and nephews that he considered his own.
