Joann "Ann" Thompson, 79, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 12:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Dewayne Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Pastor Avery Smith officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama.
Mrs. Thompson was born November 20, 1944 to the late, J.C. Grier and Lizzie B. Grier in Juniper, Georgia. She was a member of St. Mark Free Will Baptist Church, loved her Church, gospel singings, and anything Church related. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Landrum Thompson.
Surviving are her son, Charles Thompson, Jr (Lisa); daughter, Belinda Thompson West (Roy); grandchildren, Aaron Thompson, Dewey West, Abbey West, Jacob West, and Brianna West.
