Jimmy Burch Obituary

Jimmy Du-Wayne Burch, a cherished family man, and dedicated employee, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 64. Born on April 12, 1961, in Dothan, Alabama, Jimmy grew up in a bustling household that was filled with love and laughter. He brought this same warmth and dedication into every aspect of his life, including his work and family.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home. The service will be a celebration of Jimmy's life, honoring the man who touched so many hearts with his generosity, humor, and kindness. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service at the same location.

Jimmy is lovingly remembered by his devoted spouse of 13 years, Wanda "Marie" Burch. Together, they built a life full of joy and companionship. He was a proud father to Ashley Mulkey, Heather Rodgers (Justin), and Justin Mulky (Selene), whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and unwavering support. Jimmy's legacy continues through his seven adored grandchildren, Gracey, Ethan, Hunter, Kaysen, Kade, Nova-Leigh, and Adalynn-Rose, who will miss their grandfather's playful spirit and boundless love.

He was a beloved brother to his nine siblings, Michelle, Gail, Carol, Gwen, Charlotte, Diane, Joy, Harvey, and Larry, all of whom will fondly remember the times they shared. Jimmy's numerous nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart, and he leaves behind many cherished memories for them to carry forward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey D. Sr. and Dorothy Eleanor (Whiddon) Burch, who instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work.

Jimmy's professional life was marked by his long-standing commitment to Kroger, where he had been a dedicated employee since 1988. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he made countless friends and left a lasting impact on both his colleagues and customers. His presence will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

An avid fisherman, Jimmy found solace and joy in the tranquility of the water. His passion for Alabama football was well-known, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite team surrounded by friends and family. Above all, Jimmy was a family man who cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he loved deeply.
