Jeanette (McDougald) Brooks

Frances Jeanette Brooks, age 88, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church with Pastor Dewayne Dean officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 2-3pm at the church.

Jeanette was born June 18, 1935, to the late Archie and Dora McDougald. She served as a dedicated pastor's wife until her husband's death in 1971, then retired from Fieldcrest Mills as head inspector. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and loved gardening flowers, tending to some for more than 50 years.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by husband; Rev. Albert Churchwell; sons; Larry Churchwell and Randy Churchwell; and a grandson, Jason Churchwell.

Surviving are her son, Jeffery Churchwell; grandchildren; Adam Churchwell, Kristy O'Steen, Jamie Boyette, Hope Cobb, Angie Henderson, and Eric Henderson; 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
