She was preceded in death by her spouse, Jerry Ray Smith, and her son, Dwayne Starnes, both of whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Jean's professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling. As the owner of Random Repair, an appliance repair service, she became known for her incredible work ethic and the friendly service she provided to her customers. Her role as a school crossing guard for Muscogee School District allowed her to safeguard the community's children, a duty she performed with utmost care and vigilance. Additionally, Ruby Jean's time at Dillard's Store showcased her impeccable customer service skills and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Jean's interests painted a picture of a woman who cherished the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid painter, finding joy and tranquility in the stroke of a brush against canvas. Family board games were a frequent and much-anticipated activity that brought laughter and competition into her home. Traveling was another passion, as she loved to explore new places and create memories that would last a lifetime.
Jean was an active and dedicated member of her church, Grace Baptist, where she served as a spiritual mentor to many. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and it shone brightly through her actions and her unwavering support for her church family. Ruby Jean's life will be celebrated with a service on Saturday, May 17, at Grace Baptist at 2 PM, an establishment that was dear to her heart.
