Janet Simmons Boodle, 52, passed away peacefully at her home in Seale, Alabama, on August 19, 2025.
Janet was born in Adel, Georgia, on June 11, 1973, but spent the majority of her adult life in Goose Creek, South Carolina. She spent the last 17 years building a life with her best friend Mark Simpson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Simmons, Sr., and by her beloved paternal and maternal grandparents.
Janet is survived by her mother, Ruth Anne Posey of Albany, Ga.; her three children, Brittany Bebe of Goose Creek, SC, Haley Morris of Monks Corner, SC, and Benjamin Morris of Goose Creek, SC; her two brothers, Glenn Simmons (Paula) of Adel, Ga., and John Smith (Margaret) of Adel, Ga.; and her devoted companion and love of her life, Mark Simpson of Seale, Alabama.
From her early years, Janet showed an immense love for life and the outdoors. She was a star on the softball field during her high school years, a passion that taught her the values of teamwork and dedication. Her athletic prowess was matched only by her love for fishing and swimming, activities through which she found tranquility and a deep connection with nature.
Janet's spirit was as fierce and competitive as it was kind. She was an ardent supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, and her enthusiasm for collegiate sports was infectious. Game days were sacred to Janet, who would proudly wear the team's colors and cheer with an unwavering spirit that rallied everyone around her.
Her interests were not just hobbies but extensions of who she was. Janet approached every aspect of her life with the same vigor and determination that she did sports and outdoor activities. Her friends and family will remember her for her boundless energy, her infectious laugh, and her ability to turn even the simplest moments into lasting memories.
