James "Cowboy" Allen Carpenter 39, of Phenix City passed away Wednesday March 4, 2020.

Jimmy loved fishing, hunting, rodeo, country music especially David Allen Coe and horses.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ret.M.SGT Dewey H. Lane, Sr. and Betty Kay Lane, and Ret.M.SGT James C. Carpenter and Mary G. Carpenter.

He is survived by his parents Alan and Clara Lane Carpenter, Brothers Jonathan Carpenter and Jesse Carpenter (Emily), Aunt Rita Dones, Uncle Wally Carpenter and Sharon, Cousins Marie Feagle (Ted) , Walt Carpenter (Gina) , Grant Carpenter, Laura Benzing (Bruce), Rachel Hardy (Lance), Abby, Tre', Avery, Chase, Zachary, Chloe, Olivia, Nicholas Carpenter and Lena Benzing; a Nephew Tanner Carpenter; and friends Jared Clarity, Jacob Clarity, Bobby Elliott and Eddie Peoples.
