James's life was one of steadfast service and commitment. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before continuing his dedication to service in the National Guard. After his time in the military, James embarked on a fulfilling career with Georgia Power, where he worked as an operator for 30 years before retiring. His work ethic and professionalism were admired by his colleagues and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
He is survived by his adored spouse of 25 years, Jackie Connell; his daughter, Charlene Boswell (Dean); three stepdaughters, Rhonda Smith (Gene), Dianna Davis, and Paige Garnto (Jory); nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride. James was a guiding light in their lives, and his legacy will continue to live on through them. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard and Maryleen (Hamilton) Connell, and his siblings, Luther Connell, Donald Connell, and Judith Elaine Connell, who welcomed him into eternal rest.
A man of many interests, James relished the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid reader who enjoyed the suspense and drama of television shows like "CSI" and "Blue Bloods." James cherished the moments spent with family and friends at the pool, sharing laughter and creating memories. His membership at New Beginnings was a testament to his commitment to community and fellowship. James also discovered the joys of canine companionship with his dog, Molly, who made him a devoted dog lover and a friend to all animals.
James's life was a tapestry woven with dedication to his country, love for his family, and a spirit of generosity.
