Jack Curenton, age 90, passed away Friday evening March 3, 2023 at his sons home.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM ET at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Colonial Funeral Home, Phenix City, Alabama.
Mr. Curenton was born November 28, 1932 in Henry County, Alabama to the late Avner and Eugenia Ingram Curenton. He was the "ice cream man" in Columbus, Phenix City, and the surrounding area bringing joy and happiness to countless children for many years until he became unable to drive. He was also employed with Colonial Bakery for some time, enjoyed wrestling, watching westerns, especially, Walker Texas ranger, Dr. Phil, walking at Peachtree Mall, and enjoying a banana popsicle. Mr. Curenton was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Juanita Watford Curenton; a daughter, Shiela Head; son in law, Kenny Head; daughter in law, Lisa Curenton; 5 brothers, Joe Curenton, Hubert Curenton, David Curenton, A.J. Curenton, and Aaron Curenton; 2 sisters, Veleta Driggers and Rebecca Caldwell.
He is survived by his children; Shyrle Cunningham, Randy Curenton, Rhonda (Thomas) Meares, Regina (Michael) Callaway; grandchildren; Cristy Cunningham, Michelle Page, Jennifer Bryan, Mandy Austin, Paula Bekon, Melissa Humphrey, Tammy Gregg, David Bosley, T.J. Meares, Brandi Cunningham, and Michael Callaway, Jr. and numerous great grandchildren.
