Ingrid Elisabeth Stuhn, age 82, of Box Springs, Georgia, passed away on May 16, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1944, in Karlsruhe, Germany, and immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. Ingrid is the daughter of former Fredrich Jakob Glaeser and Elisabeth Gallion Glaeser. She was trained as a seamstress as a young girl post WWII and worked as an assistant butcher. Upon arriving in the US, she worked in several military dining facilities and at Swift Spinning Mill. Her life was marked by devotion to family, strength of character, and a quiet grace that touched all who knew her.
Those who were blessed to know her will remember her as a woman of kindness and courage, someone whose presence brought comfort, steadiness, humor and love. Her family and friends were the center of her life, and she took great pride in them, cherishing each one deeply and holding them close in her heart throughout her life.
Ingrid was devoted to her friend and partner Bennie Ming known to the family as "Uncle Bennie" of 20 years until his death in 2013, and her previous husband, SFC (Ret) Siegfried Stuhn of 32 years.
She is survived by her son, LTC (Ret) Raymond Stuhn and his wife Michelle Lynn of Columbia, South Carolina; and four grandchildren and their spouses, Kelsey Renee Stuhn and Alexzander Daniel Lee of Pickens, South Carolina; CPT Stephanie Nicole Stuhn of Baumholder, Germany; Christine Stuhn Earls and Jonathan Dillon Earls of South Carolina; and Nicholas Ivan Stuhn of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by her special friend, David M. Arnold of Upatoi, Georgia.
Visitation will be held at New Life Baptist Church, (5289 GA HWY 240, Box Springs, GA, 31801) on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM with Brian K. Fuller officiating.
A potluck dinner will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting all donations be provided to New Life Baptist Church (PO Box 115 Box Springs, GA 31801).
Though her earthly journey has come to a close, Ingrid Elisabeth Stuhn’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her children and loved ones.
