Hung Dai Le, known affectionately as Steven to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in Phenix City, Alabama, on February 24, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on April 30, 1963, in Viet Nam, Steven's journey led him to a life full of passion, dedication, and love which he shared generously with all who knew him.
Steven was a proud graduate of Kendrick High School, where he established the foundation for his future. His work as a certified elevator technician with Oracle-Premier Elevator Company, a role he stepped into in 1996 and held with distinction until his passing, spoke volumes about his work ethic and expertise. His career began with the former Elevator Service Company, where he honed his skills and built a reputation for being reliable and incredibly skilled.
Those who knew Steven best will remember him as a man of many interests and talents. His hands were rarely still, as he was always fixing something that needed repair or indulging in his passion for collecting and repairing guns. Cars fascinated him, and he could often be found tinkering under the hood, making sure everything ran just right. Steven's love for wrestling and his unwavering support for the Florida Gators Football team were matched only by his love for good food and the joy he found in dining out.
Steven's work allowed him to combine his love for travel with his job. He viewed his clients not just as customers but as friends, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His work ethic was unparalleled, and it was this drive and determination that made him a respected figure in his profession.
A man of many words, Steven was best described as handy and interesting. His ability to fix just about anything was only surpassed by the fascinating stories he would tell. His presence was a comfort, his knowledge vast, and his willingness to help others was a testament to his generous spirit.
Steven's family was the cornerstone of his life. He leaves behind his loving mother, Sue Welch, and his cherished daughter, Shelley Le. They, along with his friends and colleagues, will miss his guidance, his humor, and the light he brought into their lives.
Steven's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his legacy of kindness, dedication, and the joy he found in the simple things will continue to inspire. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and memories that will be treasured forever.
A ceremony will be announced later to honor Steven's life, allowing those closest to him to reflect on the joy and laughter he brought into their world. His journey on earth may have ended, but his spirit will continue to uplift and guide us. Rest in peace, Steven; your memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
