Hugh Ronald Jones

Hugh Ronald Jones, 82, of Salem, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 4:00 PM ET at Church on the Rock in Phenix City, Alabama.

Mr. Jones was born December 14, 1941 to the late, Hugh Ross Jones and Rebecca Harden Ross in Sebastopol, California. At fifteen years old, he began working in the radio industry and worked many years as Chief Engineer at WPNX. He went on to own his own business making and installing dance floors, speaker systems, and running night clubs. Mr. Jones loved the work he did with electronics and speaker systems. He even said he felt like he never worked a day in his life because he enjoyed it so much.

Surviving are his loving wife, Linda Fay Howard Jones; two sons, Ross Jones (Barbara) and Todd Jones (Michelle); one stepson, Steven Gallman; grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Crystal Jackson (Carter), Casey Bruce (Ashley), and Rebecca Jones; step-grandchildren, Zachary Lee Gallman, Megan Lassen, Matthew Green, and Johnathan George; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way.
