Hazel Malinda Davis, 61, of Phenix City, AL passed away on August 27, 2021 in Columbus, Georgia.
Hazel was born on January 5, 1960 to Willie Dave Daughtry Jr. and Mary Elizebeth Carter in Macon, Georgia.
Hazel “Linda” Davis was the epitome of a woman of God. She was a woman after God’s own heart. Linda was the oldest sister of Stephanie and Cynthia and she was the “2nd momma” of our family. Larry and Josh are her older brothers, and she was the apple of their eye. Linda supported, prayed, and loved her family. She attended Valdosta State University and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She was a very intelligent woman, she worked civil service for 34 years, helping, supporting, and teaching the military through her entire working career. She touched so many hearts with her smile, her heart and her love. Linda’s pride and joy in this world is her daughter, Hope “Peaches” Daughtry. She spent 32 years with Hope and the two of them were inseparable. The love these two shared, the challenges they faced together, and the laughs they had was tangible to all who met them. Linda loved her only daughter and she is her daughter’s greatest love, joy, and friend. Linda attended Faith Outreach, where she was a children’s church teacher and sang in the praise team for many years. She attended Faith Tabernacle where she taught as a children’s church teacher. When Momma Linda attended Central Baptist Church in Phenix City from September 2020 to August 2021, the way she was received and gave love there was phenomenal. She has always shown the Love of God everywhere she went, in every area of her life, and with every relationship she had. She is proof God is real and His Love is all you need.
She is survived by one daughter, Hope Daughtry of Phenix City, AL and four siblings, Larry Daughtry (Michelle), Joshua Daughtry (Linda), Stephanie Perryman (David), and Cynthia Tuiolosega (Jed). She had many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that she loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00pm ET Saturday September 11, 2021 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Kevin Youngstrom officiating.
