Fara Ellis Lee

Fara Ellis Lee, a beacon of kindness and a cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, after a life rich in love and devotion. She was born in Phenix City, Alabama on July 11, 1961, to Walter Clifton Ellis and Nancy Elizabeth (Bartlett) Ellis.

Fara's life was one of steadfast commitment. She married her husband Roger Lee and they welcomed their beloved daughter, Crystal Lee.

Through her work as a Correctional Officer with the Columbus Consolidated Government, Fara made a profound impact on those around her. Her unwavering kindness and empathy were a source of comfort to many, and her professional dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. 

Fara's life was a testament to the power of kindness, and those who knew her would often describe her as the embodiment of this virtue. Her smile could light up a room, and her generosity knew no bounds. Family was the cornerstone of Fara's world, and she took immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and sister.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter, Crystal Lee; her adored grandchildren, Aaron Allen and Hunter Lee; her father, Walter Ellis and her three siblings, Stacy Ellis (Heather), Tracy Ellis (Wanda), and Cricket Kamali (Alan). Each of them carries a piece of Fara's spirit, her teachings, and her unwavering love.

Fara was predeceased by her devoted husband, Roger Lee, her brother, Walter Ellis and mother, Nancy Ellis. Their memories will forever be cherished and held close to the hearts of those who loved them.

A service to honor the remarkable life of Fara Ellis Lee will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Ladonia Baptist Church at 10:30 AM ET, with visitation taking place the evening prior, Tuesday, June 17, from 5 PM to 7 PM ET at Colonial Funeral Home. It is an opportunity for friends, family, and acquaintances to gather, share memories, and celebrate the extraordinary woman that Fara was.

Fara Ellis Lee's life story is one of unwavering love, profound kindness, and a commitment to the betterment of those around her. As we honor her memory, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many others. Fara's legacy will continue to inspire and influence, just as her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.
